There is no better, faster, and more affordable way to get your radio career underway, than with our radio education at Radio 1 Broadcast School. We are located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and have been in operation for more than 13 years. Our course was developed and is taught by Joe Deschler.

Our broadcast course is a 7-week course (full time) is offered in the spring in fall (See Schedule page for more details). If our regular 7 week class does not work for your schedule, we also have an individualized-learning option, where you can learn at your own pace on your own schedule. Studio work can be done at our school studio in La Crosse, or at our radio station in Adams.

Meet the Director
Joe began his broadcast career in 1984, and has worked as an afternoon air personality and program director at many radio stations in WI and MN.
Currently Joe is very involved in the radio business — as owner and afternoon air personality at Wisconsin 106 (wisconsin106.com). He also regularly fills in as an air personality on KNEI 103.5 FM in Waukon, Iowa and is an air personality on KMRV 99.1 The River (kmrvradio.com).
Throughout most of his broadcast career, he has also been a voice talent and audio producer for radio stations, TV stations, and ad agencies (www.joecasperprod.com).
He also owns and operates a mobile DJ company, called Radio 1 Music, that offers music entertainment for wedding receptions, school dances and parties.
Because of Joe’s extensive broadcast career, he brings incredible experience and knowledge to the students of Radio1 Broadcast School. Joe knows what it takes for students to begin working at a radio station, making Radio1 a perfect place to begin a broadcast career.
